Nyavara kizhi

Nyavara is the name of the rice used for the treatment ,it can be either used as a kizhi just rub all over the body ,the rice is boiled with milk ,bulk promoting herbs and meat and then tied into a bolus and given as a kizhi to promote ,muscle as in pseudo muscular dystrophy ,polio myelitis .where there is wasting of muscle ,it should be done for 14 ,21 ,28 days continuously .

Takra dhara

Takra means butter milk ,from my earlier post you have an idea of shirodhara ,what they do here is boil milk and medicines and add little curd keep it over night ,it is then churned and shirodhara is done with that buttermilk .It is very cooling and very effective in skin diseases ,like psoriasis .

Signature treatment of ayurveda.The process involves continuous dripping of oil on forehead,either cold or lukewarm depending on ailment treated ,for 30 to 40 minutes.It is done either for 3 ,7 ,14 ,21 day depending on the severity of the ailment.Patients are advised to take rest during the treatment.Because only a relaxed mind and body can enjoy the treatment,once the patient enjoys the treatment the effect of the treatment will be doubled.

Kizhi

Kizhi treatment is a therapy wherein heated herbs and medicinal oils are tied in cloth bags; and placed on the area to be treated. This is followed by specific massages, done using the fingers, heel of the hand or palm. The pressure application varies according to the nature of ailment and the spot.
